Game Design & Web Development
Rebellion Stryker
Designing the Interface for a 2.5D Gaming Experience.

TL;DR — I contributed to Rebellion Stryker as both an environment artist and web developer during the Buffalo Game Space Cabinet Jam. I helped design levels, build the game world, and later developed a branded marketing site. The project has since grown beyond the jam into a full production under Sinstral Art Agency.
Wishlist on Steam🗺️ Overview
In 2024, I participated in the Buffalo Game Space cabinet game jam with Rebellion Stryker, collaborating with the talented team with Sinstral Art Agency. This was my first cabinet game project after making games for web and console, and it was an exciting challenge.
I contributed as an environment artist and level designer, and after the jam, I built the game's marketing website to support our outreach and visibility.
🕹️ What’s a Game Cabinet?
A game cabinet is the kind of arcade machine you'd find at a local arcade—an upright unit with joysticks, colorful buttons, and a screen made for in-person gaming experiences. Example Below.⬇️

🎨 My Role
I wore a few hats on this project:
Environment Artist & Level Designer: sourcing and modifying 3D assets, creating level mockups with Adobe Illustrator, Figma, and Blender.
Building stages 1 and 2 in Unity, shaping gameplay flow and player experience.
Participating in playtesting, feedback sprints, and creative discussions.
Web Developer: designing and developing the game's marketing website using Next.js, Tailwind, and custom CSS.
🧩 The Design Process
The vision for Rebellion Stryker was led by our lead developer, who offered clear direction while encouraging creative freedom. This made the development process fast-moving and dynamic.
I conducted research through gameplay archives, arcade marketplaces, and interviews with other jam participants to understand what makes a great cabinet game. My asset sourcing blended free, paid, and custom-made models, all adapted to create a cohesive world.
In level design, I prioritized progressive difficulty to balance experiences for both new and experienced players. With multiplayer in mind, I designed stages to prevent players from overlapping, using verticality and spacing for clear visibility and play.
Worldbuilding was key—I paid close attention to small details like litter, signage, and building interiors to create an organic, lived-in environment. The goal was a background that felt real without distracting from the gameplay.
🎬 Demo Time
Want to see it in action?
Here’s a quick overview of how the game works:
Play solo or with up to 6 players in local co-op mode.
Load into the game and jump straight into the action.
Choose from custom characters, each designed and modeled by the team.
Battle through enemies that were created entirely in-house—from concept art to final implementation.
Progress through dynamic stages filled with challenges, obstacles, and hidden details.
📣 Feedback & Reception
When we presented Rebellion Stryker at Buffalo Game Space, it was an instant hit. Seeing veteran developers fully engaged and challenged by our game was a rewarding moment. We created something that felt polished and fun, despite the tight jam schedule.

đź’» Web Development & Brand Presence
As development continued under Sinstral Art Agency, I shifted to web development to build our marketing site. The site was built using Next.js, styled with Tailwind and custom CSS, and hosted on Vercel.
My goal was to create a digital home that reflected the game's energy. I incorporated playful gradients, subtle animations, and visual movement to bring the site to life.
Next steps for the site include:
Adding an email signup form for community updates.
Redesigning the layout for a more intuitive information flow.
Developing new interactive elements based on user analytics.
✨ Why This Matters
This project is a blend of my creative and technical skills—game design, worldbuilding, and web development. It shows how I think as a developer: prioritizing usability, creativity, and a meaningful player experience.
